NOTICE OF BASIC ASSESSMENT AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS
ALLDAYS SOLAR ENERGY FACILITY PHASE 2, LIMPOPO PROVINCE
Applicant: BioTherm (Pty) Ltd
Proposed Activity: The proposed construction and operation of Alldays Solar Energy Facility Phase 2 (up to 20MW) and Battery Energy Storage System (with capacity up to 153MW/612MWh).
Project Location: Farm Gotha 102, approximately 32km northeast of Alldays, within the Musina Local Municipality, Limpopo Province.
Basic Assessment Process: An application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, as amended, (GNR 326) is being undertaken for the project. In terms of the triggered activities, a Basic Assessment (BA) process is required in support of the application for EA. Savannah Environmental has been appointed as the independent environmental consultant responsible for undertaking the required BA and Public Participation Process for the project.
Basic Assessment Report Available for Review: The BA Report and associated documentation will be made available for download, review, and comment on the Savannah Environmental website https://savannahsa.com/public-documents). The 30-day public review and commenting period of the BA Report will be from Friday, 23 June 2023 until Monday, 24 July 2023 The final day to submit comments is Monday, 24 July 2023.
