Projects Activity and Locations: The development of two (2) separate solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities located ~20km west of the town of Komaggas, and 24km southeast of Kleinzee, within the Springbok REDZ and within the Northern Corridor of the Strategic Transmission Corridors. These projects are located in the Nama Khoi Local Municipality within the Namakwa District Municipality, Northern Cape.

The infrastructure associated with each PV facility includes:
- Solar PV array comprising PV modules and mounting structures
- Inverters and transformers
- Low voltage cabling between the PV modules to the inverters
- 33kV cabling between the project components and the facility substation
- 132kV onsite facility substation
- 132kV power line to connect to the grid at Zonnequa Collector Substation within a 300m wide corridor
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- Site offices and maintenance buildings, including workshop areas for maintenance and storage
- Laydown areas
- Site access and internal roads
Application for Environmental Authorisation: An application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the EIA Regulations, 2014, as amended, (R324 – R327) is being undertaken for each of the PV facilities and associated grid connection infrastructure. Each application is being supported by a Basic Assessment process in accordance with GNR114 (February 2018), as the project sites are located within a REDZ.
Public Participation Process: Savannah Environmental is the environmental consultant responsible for undertaking the Basic Assessment and Public Participation process in support of these applications for EA.
