NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS

ADDITIONAL FOOTPRINT FOR THE ENGIE SANNASPOS SOLAR PV FACILITY, FREE STATE PROVINCE

Applicant: Engie Sannaspos Solar Project (Pty) Ltd.

Proposed Activity: An additional Footprint of 50 ha on the remainder of Portion 0 of Farm 1808 Besemkop and Portion 0 of Farm 2962 Lejwe for the currently authorised 150 ha known as Engie Sannaspos Solar Project in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, Free State Province.

Project Location: The authorised solar facility and proposed additional footprint will be located in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality of the Free State Province, within Portion 0 of Farm 1808 Besemkop and Portion 0 of Farm 2962 Lejwe.

 Application for Environmental Authorisation:  An application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the Environment Impact Act (EIA) Regulations, 2014, as amended, (GNR 326) is being undertaken for the projects. The application is being supported by an EIA process.

Environmental Impact Assessment Report available for public review and comment:

An EIA Report has been compiled for the project and is available for public review and comment from Friday, 24 June 2022 to Monday, 25 July 2022.
