NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS

ADDITIONAL FOOTPRINT FOR THE ENGIE GRASPAN SOLAR PV FACILITY, NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCE

Applicant: Engie Graspan Solar Project (Pty) Ltd.

Proposed Activity: An additional Footprint of 50 ha on Farm Graspan (No. 172) for the for the currently authorised 150ha area for the authorised Engie Graspan Solar Project in the Siyancuma Local Municipality in the Northern Cape province.

Project Location: The project site falls under the Siyancuma Local Municipality which is part of the Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality.  The authorised solar facility and proposed additional footprint will be located on the Remaining extent of Farm Graspan No. 172 in the Siyancuma Local Municipality in the Northern Cape province.

Application for Environmental Authorisation:  An application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the EIA Regulations, 2014, as amended, (GNR 326) is being undertaken for the projects. The application is being supported by an Environmental Impact assessment (EIA) process. Savannah Environmental has been appointed as independent consultants to undertake the required Scoping & EIA and public participation process for the project.

Environmental Impact Assessment Report available for public review and comment:  An EIA Report has been compiled for the project and is available for public review and comment.
