Project Name: Impofu Buffer Yard & Concrete Batching Plant
Applicant: Red Cap Impofu West (Pty) Limited
Location: A buffer yard and concrete batching plant are proposed as part of the Impofu Wind Energy Facility complex. The site is ~ 5 km southeast of the R102 main road and N2 highway between Humansdorp and Clarkson, within the jurisdiction of the Kouga Local Municipality and the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Eastern Cape Province. The project site comprises of the following farm portions:

Basic Assessment Process: An application for Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, as amended, (GNR 326) is being undertaken for the project. In terms of the triggered activities, a Basic Assessment (BA) process is required in support of the application for EA. Savannah Environmental has been appointed as the independent environmental consultant responsible for undertaking the required BA and Public Participation Process for the project.
Basic Assessment Report available for public review and comment: The BA Report and associated documentation will be made available for download, review, and comment from Friday, 26 May2023 until Tuesday, 27 June 2023. The final day to submit comments is Tuesday, 27 June 2023.
