Ummbila Emoyeni Five (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of the Ummbila Emoyeni Five Wind Energy Facility (WEF) on a site in the Mpumalanga Province. Eleven turbines were previously authorised as part of the original Ummbila Emoyeni WEF (EIA Ref 14/12/16/3/3/2/2160/5) while the current application allowed for the development of a further 11 turbines with associated grid infrastructure. The project is located approximately 8km east of Morgenzon, within the Lekwa Local Municipality, Gert Sibande District Municipality in the Mpumalanga Province.
The DFFE has granted Environmental Authorisation. The Appeal Period is ending on 26 October 2026.
